Shipping Policy

We ship 1979 Atelier pieces worldwide. Here’s everything you need to know before you order.

Where we ship

We ship to most countries. If checkout doesn’t accept your address, email us at info@1979atelier.com and we’ll see what we can do.

Processing time

We pack and ship most orders within 2 to 3 business days of when you place them. Custom or made-to-order pieces take longer, and we’ll tell you the timeline before you order.

Orders placed on weekends or holidays start processing the next business day.

Shipping methods and costs

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your address, the weight of your order, and the speed you pick.

United States

  • Standard shipping: 3 to 5 business days
  • Expedited shipping: 2 business days
  • Overnight shipping: next business day

Canada and Mexico

  • Standard shipping: 5 to 10 business days
  • Expedited shipping: 3 to 5 business days

Europe, UK, Australia, and Asia

  • Standard shipping: 7 to 14 business days
  • Expedited shipping: 3 to 7 business days

Rest of world

  • Standard shipping: 10 to 21 business days

These are estimates, not guarantees. Customs delays, weather, and carrier issues can add time.

Free shipping

We provide complimentary ground shipping on U.S. orders.

Every piece is carefully prepared, securely packaged, and shipped fully insured.

For priority delivery, 2-day shipping is available for $30 and overnight for $45.

Tracking your order

Once your order ships, you’ll get an email with a tracking number. Tracking can take 24 to 48 hours to update after shipping.

If you don’t see a shipping email, check your spam folder. Still nothing? Email info@1979atelier.com.

International orders, customs, and duties

If you’re ordering from outside the United States, please read this carefully.

You are responsible for all customs fees, import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees charged by your country. These are not included in your order total. The carrier or your local customs office will collect them, usually before delivery.

We can’t tell you in advance what these fees will be. They vary by country and by what’s in your order. Check with your country’s customs office if you want to know what to expect.

If you refuse delivery or don’t pay customs fees, your package may be returned to us, abandoned, or destroyed. If it comes back to us, we’ll refund the cost of the items minus original shipping and any return shipping fees we paid. We can’t refund customs fees.

Lost or stolen packages

Once your package shows as delivered by the carrier, it’s the carrier’s responsibility, not ours. If your tracking says delivered but you don’t have the package:

  1. Check with neighbors and household members
  2. Look around your property (porches, side doors, mailroom)
  3. Wait 24 hours. Sometimes carriers mark packages delivered before they actually drop them off
  4. File a claim with the carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL all have online claim forms)
  5. Email us at info@1979atelier.com and we’ll help where we can

For high-value orders, we recommend selecting a shipping option with signature confirmation at checkout.

Damaged packages

If your package arrives damaged, take photos before opening it (if possible) and email info@1979atelier.com within 48 hours of delivery with:

  • Your order number
  • Photos of the damaged package and the items inside
  • A short description of the damage

We’ll sort out a replacement or refund.

Wrong or missing items

We mess up sometimes. If you got the wrong piece or something is missing from your order, email info@1979atelier.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and we’ll fix it.

Address changes

If you typed your address wrong, email us immediately at info@1979atelier.com. We can usually fix it before the order ships, but once it’s with the carrier we can’t change it.

If a package is returned to us because of a wrong address, you’ll need to pay shipping again to have it resent.

P.O. boxes and APO/FPO addresses

We ship to P.O. boxes and APO/FPO addresses through USPS. Expedited and overnight shipping aren’t available for these addresses.
